Music Technology is a practical course, focused on the way technological developments in the 20th and 21st centuries have impacted music making and the creative choices available to contemporary musicians.
Students will experience this first-hand through a wide variety of activities in which they learn how sound works and can be manipulated. The skills students develop, using synthesisers, digital audio workstations (DAWs), recording, sampling and editing techniques, enable them to dabble in a range of genres including popular music, experimental music as well as video game and film soundtracks. Students then apply their music technology skills to create a final recording/production project.
