In their study of English, Year 7-10 students respond imaginatively and critically to a range of texts. Each year group reads novels, poetry, film, media and dramatic texts, to build their ability to articulate thoughtful, coherent written and spoken responses to the texts they study. Students are exposed to works from the Elizabethan period, Gothic and Romantic literature, Australian and American literature and works in translation from a range of novelists, poets and playwrights. Not only do students gain enjoyment from engaging with this breadth of texts, but also expand their perspectives on their own lives.
