Society and Culture allows students to develop an understanding of persons, societies, cultures, environments and time – the relationships between and among them. Additional concepts of the Society and Culture course are: power, authority, identity, gender, technologies, and globalisation. Through the major Personal Interest Project (PIP), students are given the opportunity to demonstrate social and cultural research methods about a topic of interest. A course highlight is the excursion to the Nan Tien Buddhist Temple at Wollongong.
