The Prefect body at Normanhurst Boys consists of 20 elected senior students who represent a broad cross section of their year group and the school. Candidates will have demonstrated their ability across a range of areas – academically, creatively and holistically – and shown their involvement at the school across their whole tenure.
The Prefects are responsible for significant amounts of fundraising, running of school events, working collaboratively with the school executive to ensure smooth communication between students and the school, and representing the school externally at events in the community. The Prefect portfolio consists of 80% external fundraising, with significant donations having been made to World’s Greatest Shave, Movember, and Jeans for Genes charities. Prefects are also actively involved in school grounds days, supporting staff in the running of school assemblies as well as being key representatives of the student body as a whole. The position of Prefect at Normanhurst Boys is an honour and privilege that is widely sought after and highly regarded within both the school and wider community.

Fundraising initiatives run by the SRC have included: Pink Stumps Day, Colour Run, Star Wars Day, Halloween events, Teacher Appreciation Day, Beyond Blue Day, R U OK Day and many more. The SRC take pride in taking time to spread joy around the school too with initiatives like Circus Day and the distribution of lollies and messages of support to senior students after their major exams.
