The Visual Design course at Normanhurst Boys has a strong focus on architecture and graphic design. Students engage in a variety of design projects that challenge their creative thinking and problem-solving skills through real-world briefs. Not only will students study different styles and time periods of architecture and graphic design, but also create innovative works using a variety of design skills. These include technical and isometric drawing, graphic proposals, architectural modelmaking, computer-aided design, digital illustration and animation. During the course, students develop their understanding of the aesthetics and functions of design, while gaining insight into new technologies, different cultures, and the changing nature of visual design in the 20th and 21st century.
