In creative arts, students discover a variety of art forms through a study of drama, Music and Visual Arts.
In contemporary societies many kinds of knowledge are increasingly managed through imagery and visual codes and much of students' knowledge is acquired in this way. Visual Arts empowers students to engage in visual forms of communication and provides an outlet for students to express their personal view of the world in which they live.
In Years 7 and 8, Visual Arts is a compulsory core subject, and students study Visual Arts through semesterisation. They study half a year of Visual Arts, and half a year of Music, or vice-versa.
In Years 9 and 10, the Visual Arts faculty offers three electives that students can choose from. Students are able to study one or more of these electives if they're interested.
In Years 11 and 12, Visual Arts is offered as an HSC subject, combining the artmaking skills and art historical knowledge developed through Stage 5 Visual Arts, Visual Design and Photographic & Digital Media.
