Students studying Year 9 & 10 Information and Software Technology (IST) focus on developing computing skills by completing of a variety of challenging and creative projects. The aim of this course is for students to understand which area of computing specialisation they prefer via cyclical learning and innovation.
Units in this course include:
A variety of individual and group work is required throughout the course, accurately reflecting skills and requirements in demand by modern technology companies.
Stage 6 courses often studied after IST are: Software Engineering and Engineering Studies.
The new iSTEM syllabus will be taught from 2024 onwards, replacing Information and Software Technology. Students who started the Information and Software Technology course in 2023 will finish the course according to the previous syllabus.
