International Studies provides students with an opportunity to explore and recognise the richness in the cultures around them as well as their own. In an age where difference has been highlighted, we instead explore the value of those differences, and also learn about the many similarities that we share as a part of a multicultural Australia, the Asia-Pacific region, as well as the global community. Students who are interested in gaining knowledge of different cultural practices, values, beliefs and heritages as well as sharing their own culture will find International Studies a highly engaging subject and hopefully allow us to better understand not just ourselves, but each other.
Students will learn the value of interconnectedness, intercultural communication, respect, and empathy through our investigation into the topics.
