ARTEXPRESS Selection Success!

We were informed on Wednesday that one of our amazing Year 12 Visual Arts students, Gene Richards, has had his HSC Visual Arts Body of Work selected to be included as part of the 2023 ARTEXPRESS exhibition!

ARTEXPRESS is the annual showcase for highly successful HSC Visual Arts students and their Bodies of Work and takes place as a series of exhibitions over a period of year. Each year, only a very small percentage of submitted artworks are nominated for possible selection and inclusion, and an even smaller number of students are formally selected for the exhibition. As an example, approximately 50 students from across New South Wales are selected for the largest ARTEXPRESS exhibition, held at the Art Gallery of NSW.

As a testament to Gene’s ongoing hard work and commitment to his Body of Work, his artwork has been selected by gallery curators across three different galleries across NSW. His work was selected from a pool of 8660 HSC Visual Arts students this year – this is an amazing achievement!

Gene’s artwork will be on display as part of the ARTEXPRESS exhibitions at the:

  • Art Gallery of NSW, from 7th February to 21st April 2024
  • Ngununggula, Southern Highlands Regional Gallery, from 18th May to 30th June 2024
  • Cowra Regional Art Gallery, from 18th August to 22nd September 2024

His work will also be viewable as part of the online Virtual Exhibition VX, for which the dates have yet to be determined. Congratulations to Gene for his dedication to Visual Arts, and we look forward to seeing his work up on display at each of the art galleries next year!
