Last weekend, the school ensembles had been awarded the following results in the Australian School Band and Orchestra Festival at the NSW State Conservatorium of Music:
- Concert Band – Gold
- Year 7 Concert Band – Silver
- String Ensemble – Silver
- Stage Bands 1 and 2 – Bronze
A truly amazing achievement by all!
Huge congratulations to the Music, Drama and Visual Arts staff and students for the absolute feast of activities in the last two weeks – Stage Band performance at Lazy Bones Lounge in Marrickville in Week 5; HSC Drama performances; the Music Ensemble Evening Concert and the HSC Soiree in Week 6; as well as last Sunday’s marathon of performances in the ASBOF.
Many thanks to Mr Graeme Lowe, Mr Hansel Lin, Ms Virginia Smirniotis, Mr Michael Howell and Ms Elizabeth Hogan for their tireless efforts in working with these students to bring out the best in them and for having the commitment to take part in these activities whilst preparing their students for their HSC. No mean feat at all!!
